Meet the Founder
is a passionate educator, movement specialist, and the founder of The Body Balance Studio, with a deep commitment to making movement literacy more accessible across Canada.
With over nine years in the wellness industry, Liv blends science-backed education with a holistic, real-world approach to movement. Her work is rooted in helping people move with more confidence, strength, and intention, whether they’re stepping onto the mat for themselves or learning how to guide others.
Liv holds an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Human Kinetics and an Advanced Diploma in Massage Therapy, alongside multiple certifications in Mat Pilates, Lagree, Functional Movement Screening (FMS), Yoga (200-hour YTT), and Holistic Nutrition. Her teaching style weaves together traditional Pilates principles with contemporary movement science, creating classes and training environments that are both accessible and deeply transformative.
At the heart of Liv’s work is a bigger mission: improving movement literacy and expanding access to mindful, intelligent movement in communities across the country. Through her 100-hour Mat Pilates Instructor Certification, she’s training the next generation of instructors, supporting them in bringing Pilates not only to urban studios, but also to smaller and more remote communities where quality movement education is often harder to access.
The more instructors she supports, the wider the ripple effect. As graduates step into their teaching roles, more people gain access to the life-changing benefits of movement, helping communities take ownership of their health, move away from sedentary lifestyles, and ultimately reduce the long-term impact of chronic disease.
Pilates, for Liv, is more than just movement. It’s a tool for connection, confidence, and lasting change, one thoughtful, intentional movement at a time.
